A Statement of Facts Relative to the Dismissal of James S. Howard Esq., by The Town of York Historical Society. Cover design done in-house by our Museum Coordinator.
This book is a reprint of the original and enlarged from 1839. It was used to demonstrate the innocence and wrongful dismissal of Toronto's first Postmaster: James Scott Howard Esq. to the citizens of Toronto and the Legislative Assembly of Canada at the time. Howard was wrongly dismissed by Charles Berczy and Francis Bondhead as he was labelled a Mackenzie sympathizer. Unfortunately, Howard was never given the justice he deserved and Toronto's first Postmaster was never reinstated.
