A Visit to The Toronto Post Office in 1834, by Susan Brown, Andrea Maguire and The Town of York Historical Society of 1991. Cover design revamped in-house by our Museum Coordinator.

This book illustrates the journey of a young girl who is coming into the Town of York with her father to retrieve and respond to their mail at Toronto's First Post Office. She greets Mr. James S. Howard (postmaster from 1833-1837), uses the reading room to write and seal her letter and sends her letter off to England with the cost of 9 pences.

A great little storybook used as a part of our education programming for the primary schools and doubles as a little colouring book as well.
