This watercolour set includes a calming palette of colours in an abalone shell, along with a travel brush, samples of St Armand handmade paper, and a cotton bag for mess-free storage and travel.

Each 1/2" pan is loaded with pigment... a little goes a long way! The shell can be used as a palette and carrier.
All paints are handmade in small batches with local Manitoulin honey, wildcrafted tree sap, hand gathered, washed and sifted Manitoulin stone and the finest lightfast pigments.
Abalone shells symbolize a great star that appeared in the sky to guide the Anishinaabe people in their great migrations, prior to European contact. The shell is commonly used to hold a ‘smudge’. A bit of white sage and other plants burned in the shell and their smoke would dispel negative energy before starting your art practice.
